Mirror, mirror on the wall, whose is the fairest sweater of them all? MINE.

Hello all! How are you feeling today?

I'm feeling sleepy. And since I'm "recovering" from a minor surgical operation I had earlier today, I'm going to let myself give into my lethargy. But before I enter my vegetative state of rest, I wanted to share a beautiful, beautiful sweater I bought yesterday.
Let me first express how much I ADORE this sweater. It. Is. Incredible. It's a vintage beaded, embroidered and sequin covered cardigan and guess how much I got it for?? $17!! Now I know, if you're a real hardcore thrift-shopper you might not think this sounds like such a deal. But let me tell you, the person who first bought this new probably paid several hundred dollars. Yeeah.
It's really just... fantastic. And lucky for you, I did a quick photo shoot! With just myself, too. It was very difficult. I was able to dig out our nice tripod but I couldn't find my automatic lens so I had to do a lot of back and forth to position and focus everything correctly. SO YOU BETTER APPRECIATE THESE PHOTOS. Please? :P

Here ya go:

And as an extra bonus, these are some of my favorite sandals that I happened to be wearing:

So, do you agree? Is that not a beautiful, beautiful sweater? I wore it out today and I actually got SO many compliments. Glad to see the world has great taste. Okay, well I'm going to go lay around and recover from my exhausting photo shoot. ;) Pozegnanie!

One Spectacular Saturday of Shopping

I had a pretty great day yesterday. After spending quite a bit of time sitting around, watching Netflix and looking at pictures on Tumblr, I finally went out with my dad and my little bro. We meant to see this movie that was part of this international film festival going on for the next few weeks, but we ended up getting there too late and finding that all the tickets were sold out. That doesn't sound great, but it was.
Because we had missed it, but were already out, we decided to go to some of the super cool stores that happened to be on that same street. And we ended up seeing the movie later that night. Anywho, the first was this crazy awesome vintage/really-cool-old-stuff store where I got the COOLEST GLOVES IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE. They're a dark navy blue leather with white and red racing stripes going up one of the fingers. They're sooo soft, AND they're thin enough that I can still ride a bike or operate a camera! They are my dream gloves. And they fit me perfectly too! I also bought my brother this old Wallace and Gromit shirt. It's from the movie with the homicidal penguin disguised as a chicken! :) Which happens to be one of our favorite W&G movies.
After purchasing our super awesome gloves and t-shirt, we decided to pop in at another one of our favorite stores on the street. It's called "Really Good Stuff", but we just call it the Junk store, because that's essentially what it is. A store absolutely jam-packed with nothing but useless crap. Or so you'd think at first glance. But remember: one man's junk is just another man's treasure! Or at least another man's slightly more valued junk that his wife resents and tries to dump at Goodwill when her husband's not looking. That's sort of the case with us. Although I'm usually the one buying most of the junk.
But really, this store is cool and you can find incredibly awesome stuff when you're looking hard enough. Which is exactly what I did on this trip and it totally payed off. Just as we were leaving, a glorious thing caught my eye. An old, vintage Michael Jackson doll!!!! Dressed in his Thriller outfit! Luckily for me, the box was in pretty bad condition so he couldn't sell it to me for a high price. I got it for just $20 and it's fantastic. I looked him up online and it turns out they also made other outfits, like the clothes he wore from Billy Jean and Beat It! In fact... heh... I kind of want to go on Ebay and buy some...

But anyways, to show you how great my gloves and little MJ are, I had my brother put on his Thriller outfit and we did a little photo shoot! Check it out!

Here is my new MJ doll:

And some pics of just my adorable little brother:

And here are the gloves!

I don't know if I've ever mentioned it, but my brother is a dancer. His Michael Jackson impersonation is great, and he's got all the dance moves down cold! Since we're both so into MJ, I'm sharing my doll--ACTION FIGURE--with him. :)

So did you guys have a good Saturday? Tell me about it!

Bamboo Building Bonanza in Bali

HEY HOME DAWGS!! Gosh, I've missed all of you imaginary readers so much!! Unfortunately, finals madness is quickly creeping up on me and I've been putting all my extra time into updating my new sketch blog, so I've sort of let this one slip a little.. :( But no more! We're going to catch up! (Aka I'm going to chatter mindlessly about my life for the next 5 minutes. YOU DON'T GET TO TALK. Unless you comment... Heh.)

So what's been going on with me? I'm glad you asked! They didn't. Go away.

This weekend, I did something pretty awesome. I went on a giant birthday party scavenger hunt ALLLL across downtown!! It was AWESOME! There were about 20 people at the party, and we split into three groups and ran around all over town! And I knew/was friends with a bunch of the people there so I never felt left out or socially retarded! In fact... I kind of felt like an ordinary teenager. You know, chillin' with friends and goofing off and just having fun. Which is a pretty rare experience for me.

The things we had to find and photograph were really cool too. Here is a short list of examples:
  • A photo of a couple kissing (yessss, we had to walk up to people and ask them to kiss for us...)
  • A naked mannequin (This was totally impossible to find, and I was a hero when I finally found one! Two, actually. They were three stories up smashed against a window and surrounded by boxes, in a storage area above the mall. I saw them as we were walking by. An impressive accomplishment, if I do say so myself.)
  • A really weird newspaper article (Ours was "Bamboo Building Bonanza in Bali". I am not joking. It really was.)
  • A food sample (The catch was, we had to bring it with us, not just take a photo.)
  • A feather boa (Very difficult, but we finally found one in "Claire's". Hurrah for feather boa wearing teenagers!)
And many, many more! Basically, it was super duper fun. After the hunt, we got pizza, walked back to the mall and then played a hide and seek like game in it. And then we went out and just kind of meandered until we got to the square where we started, where we hung out for the rest of the time.
Oh, and did I mention my team also won the hunt? We were the only ones to find EVERYTHING on the list.  >:D

Hope you had a great weekend too!

AHH WAIT I FORGOT SOMETHING! I also went out with my family afterwards and bought THE SHINIEST AND MOST METALLIC SHIRT I HAVE EVER SEEN AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL! I got it at an Outlet Mall too so it was a super great deal. I'm pretty sure it's the first thing I've ever owned from Calvin Klein. Wanna see? You know you do...

You can't quite see just how wondrously shiny it is, but trust me on that.

Guess how much it was originally? 80 FREAKING DOLLARS. Maybe that's not a lot to you, but compared to how much I usually pay for my shirts, it's ridiculous. Guess how much I got it for? $24!!! Which is actually still pricey compared to what my usual clothes cost, but since it was such a great deal and the shiniest shirt ever, I had to get it. AHHH I love finding amazing clothing on sale! :)

Six Of My Favorite Fashion Staples

AHAHHH, I fixed my keyboard. :)

So I had a wonderful shopping excursion today!! I found some of the most amazing items of clothing EVER. But I am much too lazy to go take pictures of all of them right now, so I'm going to do a different post for y'all right now, then share my wonderful day of purchasing with you later! Sound good? GREAT!

In this post, I'm going to share some of my latest fashion obsessions!! :D :D :D

#1 SOCKS!!

They're just so great!! Some are warm and fuzzy, some are cool and retro... Socks. Are. Just. Awesome. And they have all kinds of patterns and pictures and designs!! They protect your feet from blistering ickiness and snazz up your ankles like crazy! Just check it out, man:

Stripey..

Fuzzy...

Stripey AND starry...

Mustache-y...

Long and rainbow-y...

Simple yet elegant...

#2 COZY SWEATERS!!!

I LOVE cozy sweaters. I love how soft they are...And I love the cute patterns... And I love the fuzziness... And I love how comfortable they are!! Ugly Christmas sweaters... passsss... but cute, cozy, lumpy, loose sweaters... Perfect. Observe the cuteness:

I absolutely love the pattern on this one. I really, really, really wish I knew where I could get this exact sweater.

That looks like a cold apartment... It's okay, she has a sweater on. :)

Mmmmm nice and loose and warm.

And they look so good with no pants.

And I love it when they have big, warm collars! :D

#3 RINGS

I absolutely adore rings. They just make my fingers feel so cool and stylish! And what I love about rings, is that you can take anything you want, from a teacup to a dinosaur, slap it on a metal hoop, and make a super fantastic ring! They are like the greatest form of jewelry EVER!! Shall we gaze upon some examples? Yes, I think we shall:

There are camera rings...

Owl rings... (no surprise there)

More camera rings...

PACMAN RINGS!!!

Teacup rings... <3

Mysterious rings with mustache nails... :)

#4 SCARVES!!!

Scarves are one of the best accessories on the planet. I love them so much. They can complete any outfit!! They can make a plain outfit more creative... They can make a crazy outfit more conservative... They can do anything and fix any outfit! They're like superheroes, man. SUPERHEROES. I have short, stylish ones, as well as long, comfy ones... They're just so very diverse. <3

This one is sooo cute and pretty! <3

I really like stripes right now. That whole nautical look is pretty cute, but I have to say I don't think I pull it off very well...

I love this picture. Love it SO much. And the scarf is so wispy and bright and beautiful!

SO warm looking. SO loooong and wrap-able! The sweater isn't half bad either. ;)

Mmmm toasty mosty.

#5 SPARKLE SHOES

My friend Miss Mixie recently turned me on to sparkliness and now I think I'm obsessed. One of my favorite kinds of glittery things are shoes. Glittery sparkle shoes are the bomb-diggity. I will prove it to you:

Aren't the toe base thingies super cool?? They look so great with all the sparkly jewels...

I really like spiky heels too now that I think of it...

Mmmmm pink sparkles... Love 'em!

AHHHH glitter is just so gorgeous.

Hmm they look good on non-heels too! And I like the laces... Not sure why.

AAAHHH I loooovvveee Oxford shoes. And sparkly, shiny, metallic oxford shoes?? SCORE.

Not a huge fan of the boring gold heel, but I adore the glitter on the body of the shoe!

#6 SUNGLASSES

This is one of the most frustrating things in my life. I adore sunglasses SO MUCH, and I love buying tons of pairs in all different colors and styles. But I have prescription glasses! So I either have to wear contacts whenever I wear sunglasses (BLAAHHHH ICK ECH GROSS) ooorrrr I have to walk around totally blind while looking super cool. Honestly, I would be totally cool being blind in exchange for all the AWESOMENESS that comes with a good pair of sunglasses, except that I usually wind up walking into things. And that hurts. But I'm thinking it may still all be worth it. Why don't you decide for yourself:

(btdubs I am super into heart-shaped sunglasses right now, so there will be a lot of photos of them)

So cute. So cute. So cute. So cute.

Sparkles + heart-shaped sunglasses =  AHHHHHHH!!! <3

I love that tie too...

Ahhh those sunglasses look so good with her lipstick...

Ditto with the rose...

Even wee little kids can rock the heart-shaped glasses apparently.

Awww cute wittle bunny.

Just to throw a little humor in there. :P These are actually the kind of glasses my dad wants. Weird, right??

Cutie pie...

Awesome glasses. Awesome jacket. Awesome shirt. Sheer awesomeness. Right here.

Pink Ray Banz glasses like the ones Darren Criss wears. <3 I love them with her black lipstick too! It looks gorgeous. :)

Okay, so I hope you liked looking at all these super cute pictures of awesome clothing and accessories!! I've got to go now... Hopefully I'll do my awesome shopping experience post tomorrow sometime! Sleep tight everybody! Now Imma go snoooooze.

PS Man, this is like the longest post I've ever published. Woah.
